Capt. Herman Bips III , whose home port is Davis Island YC in Tampa,
Florida, sailed to Key West and is now at Staniel Cay, Exumas, Bahamas.
This website will feature articles, pictures, videos, and general
information on his sailing adventure aboard his Freedom 40 cat/ketch
"Whitewing". Feel free to email him for additonal information or
just to say hello. His travels have taken him to Bimini, Chubb Cay,
Nassau, Allen Cay, and now in Staniel Cay.
Here is "Whitewing" on a mooring ball in Staniel Cay. The page for Staniel
Cay is under construction and should be up in a week or so. Staniel Cay is
a beautiful cay in the Exumas and will be the home for "Whitewing" for at
least a few months. It's the perfect place to use as a home base
while exploring the many other cays in the Exuma Chain.
Davis Island Yacht Club is located in Tampa, Florida. Capt Herman
has been an active member there since the late 70's and has enjoyed the sailing
and the friendships the club has offerred its members throughout the years.
A special page will be devoted to this amazing club and its members in the near
future.
Capt. Herman will also be featuring the wildlife he encounters along the way.
Here is one of the famous iguanas at Allen Cay, Exumas. Other wildlife
will include marine , swimming pigs, goats, chickens and various
other interesting animals.
